The problem
Studying alongside work and family commitments can feel demanding. The last thing you need is uncertainty about deadlines, difficulty reaching a tutor or generic teaching that does not help you understand how to apply what you have learned.
New Day Training was created to give learners the support, structure and personal contact that can make the journey feel manageable.

“I’d recommend Tim Rabot to anyone studying for the NEBOSH Fire Certificate. I came into the course already holding the NEBOSH Diploma, so I was confident with the method of answering NEBOSH open-book questions. Tim helped me refine that approach to incorporate the specifics of fire safety, which made a real difference to the precision and quality of my answers. He’s an excellent tutor with an interactive teaching style. The sessions were engaging rather than death by PowerPoint, and Tim provided enough resources and practice questions that I felt well-prepared going into the exam.”

Learn moreOne of the UK’s most widely recognised health and safety qualifications, designed for managers, supervisors, team leaders and anyone with health and safety responsibilities in the workplace.
We know returning to study can feel daunting, especially if it has been some time since you last completed a qualification. That’s why every learner gets a supportive, encouraging environment with the guidance and confidence they need to succeed.
Throughout the course you will develop practical knowledge of workplace health and safety management, risk assessment, hazard control and legal responsibilities. The qualification focuses on real-world application — helping you identify risks, improve safety performance and create safer workplaces across a wide range of industries.
Our tutors break complex topics into manageable sections, provide ongoing support and are always available to answer questions. By completing the General Certificate you gain a qualification valued by employers worldwide, stronger career prospects and the confidence to positively influence health and safety.
How you are assessed: an open-book, scenario-based examination that checks what you know and how well you can apply it to the scenario; a marked practical risk assessment where you complete a workplace risk assessment and develop an action plan; and a closing interview linked to your open-book examination submission. All assessments are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH. Open-book does not mean easy — you still need to understand the syllabus, answer in your own words and give enough relevant, separate points based on the scenario. We help you plan your time, use evidence and examples from the scenario, build a suitable and sufficient risk assessment with a realistic, prioritised action plan, and prepare calmly for your closing interview.
